Friday Wine Bites - Winter/Spring 2010

Swirl Wine Bites are held in the Wine Lounge at Cornfields Restaurant in Colmworth, Bedfordshire. Cornfields is around 10 minutes drive or taxi from Bedford and St Neots, and 40 minutes from Cambridge.

We taste half a dozen delicious, characterful wines. Each Wine Bite covers the essentials of how to taste and describe wine, and no prior wine-tasting knowledge or experience is necessary to get the most out of the evening. We aim to give you an insight into why individual wines taste as they do, and an understanding about what you like, and why.

Wine Bites start promptly at 7.30pm and finish just before 9pm. The price for each includes tasting wines, nibbles and crib sheets. You choose whether you’d like to stay on for dinner; both a la carte and set menus (from £10 a head) are available. Advance dinner booking is not essential, but is recommended as the restaurant is very popular.

Special accommodation rates in one of Cornfields’ five smart and spacious bedrooms are also available for Swirlers. A double room (normally £120) costs £100, and the four-poster (normally £150) is reduced to £130. Room rates are for double occupancy and include full English breakfast.
